Online Safety
At St. Andrew's we take Online Safety very seriously and we have a school Online Safety Policy as well as Acceptable Use Policies which all children and parents/ carers must sign. In addition we have a parent group for online safety plus policies relating to photography, filming and privacy, see below:
Photography and Filming Policy Statement
We can’t always protect our children from every danger online, but we can reduce the risk and help them respond in the best way if something does happen. Above all, it is vital that children are encouraged to talk to adults about anything they see or hear online that makes them feel uncomfortable. We constantly stress this in school.
For parents/ carers unsure about how to approach this, we would recommend 7 questions to help you start a conversation with your child about online safety. There are also useful resources to help parents/ carers manage screen time https://www.internetmatters.org/issues/screen-time/ and online policies at home - Online safety activities for the whole family from Switched On.
The following websites also offer guidance to parents/ carers on various media, platforms, online games and apps (e.g. Whatsapp, Fortnite and Snapchat) to enable you to make the best online choices for your children:
