Outdoor Learning

With our school site being only a short walk from the seafront, we are proud to incorporate all that the beach has to offer into our learning as part of our ‘Outdoor Explorers’ programme and within our science,
geography and eco curriculum.

As well as being close to the beach, St. Andrew's is extremely lucky to have an expansive green area within the school grounds. This includes a large playing field for our grass sports such as football, athletics and running clubs; a wooded area for our ‘Outdoor Explorers’ sessions (including a mud kitchen, climbing trees and plenty of sticks!), plus a cultivated garden, tended by both staff and children who grow beautiful flowers, plants, herbs and vegetables.

Learning in nature is fun and memorable and we believe in the importance of teaching children that regularly spending time outside is invaluable for their health and wellbeing.
